Rain On Me

Yesterday, Lady Gaga released her new single "Rain On Me" featuring Ariana Grande, and it is perfect! Lady Gaga is no stranger to mental health issues, and says that her upcoming album "Chromatica" details her journey of pulling herself out of a dark place. Ariana Grande has had a tough couple years as well, with the death of her boyfriend, and a terrorist attack made at her concert, killing people at the show. Needless to say, both of these women have trauma to heal.

Enter the song, "Rain On Me." Lady Gaga some takes deeply personal lyrics and sets them against a thumping disco beat. Anxiety comes into our lives to wake us up and get us to make a change. Part of the journey is accepting where you're at and what you're going through...even though it is highly uncomfortable. Lady Gaga sings "It's coming down on me, water like misery, it's coming down on me, I'm ready - rain on me!" This is how you're going to get through your struggle. Turn into it and accept it. Tell it you're ready - let it rain! There is so much truth in the lyrics "I'd rather be dry, but at least I'm alive...rain on me." When you're struggling, you'd much rather be filled with ease, but at least you're alive and if you turn into it - you will recover!

Try using that mantra this week. When you experience your struggle, tell yourself it's just a temporary experience and allow it - say "I'm ready, rain on me!"
